Mercedes 250D/w124 Saloon, Leathers, Arctic White in Stanley, County Durham | Used Mercedes-Benz for sale | Gumtree.com

I've had this car for two years and only selling due to going traveling otherwise I'd keep it. I pleaded with my brother to keep for a year but he's only 20yrs old and wants something fast.

It's got just under 12 month tax and MOT, a full green leather interior, 17" powder coated black alloys, new springs with 2" reduction to keep to the original height. Paintwork is very good but some bits I've tidied can be seen up close (due to not having a proper gloss). Even so, the arctic white body and black wheels turn heads (it was once a wedding car).

Everything works fine apart from the rear windows, the relays are clicking but there is no power to motors. I haven't investigated it yet. ABS, sunroof, front windows all ok.

I've spent a vast amount of time and money on the car and this includes a new Varta battery, fan belt chain, pre-tensioner damper, steering dampener, differential and on it goes. There is a large wallet full of servicing, old MOT's and work done throughout the cars history.

This is the model with the OM602/3 engine, known as the most reliable diesel engine ever made (a taxi 250d got to 1 million miles and needed no parts changing!). I changed the head gasket for the latest revision when I had a leak so that one future problem will not come up again. This chatty (think Landrover 90) engine is working fine and will eventually pull the car up to 90-100mph. The engine is very lazy as it doesn't have a turbo but you will get great mpg between 45-60. It's a cruise machine - boy racers should stay away. As the engine is large (2.5) it doesn't matter how much weight is in the car - it will pull a caravan, load up with four people and the boot space is massive (two dead bodies would be no problem).

The sound system has been upgraded with twin subs in the rear, carpower units front and back and a straight USB/3.5" in to replace the radio cassette. You can therefore plug in a GPS/iPhone etc. This is about as good as it gets for a w124.

Absolutely no offers at this price, you will not find a better w124 250D cheaper than this.
