Hi Guys,

I'm having issues with my car Mercedes Benz w203 C22O CDI. It loses power as soon as the gear shifts up to 3rd,It feels like the turbo doesn't kick anymore and sometimes i have issues with the brakes as well. When I opened the bonnet there were two lose pipes. I sucessfully put black one to the vacuum. But there is the white one is still lose. Any idea where this lose pipe (see attachment) fits in? Grateful if you could provide assistance guys. Thanks :)c220-pipe-vacuum.jpg

Almost certainly a vacuum line also. My guess its for the headlight level adjustment from its location. Your symptoms could well be explained by loss of vacuum. One test would be to simply block it off to see if that restores function if its on the "suck" side. [Check both loose pipes for vacuum with the engine running]

Ok, will try to block the lose pipe first. Any idea where it is supposed to fit actually? So, that i can put the pipe in its right place. Thanks for your help grober, much appreciated. cheers :).. will try it immediately and update you (Y)

try this w203 headlight unit picture - its the wrong side but your one will be a mirror image. the circular white unit is the vacuum diaphram and the small grey spiggot [ pipe] in the bottom right is the vacuum connection. perhaps you cancheck if the head light leveling is working first- engine running healights on playing on a flat surface [ garage wall/door] try leveling the headlights with the knurled adjustedr wheel beside the rotary light switch. If I'm right the LH light should adjust but not the RH one- if both fail to move block off that white pipe and try again.

Hi Graeme, I blocked the pipe. It works power is restored, the acceleration is smooth and the engine's sound became lighter now. There's no power loss when gear shifts to 3rd. However, the pipe does not fit to the headlight. i removed the headlights pipe and its purple one.(see attachments) 01..jpg 02.jpg

well that's progress :)---sounds as if its a vacuum supply to some actuator somewhere. I have tried to find a vacuum diagram for the C203 diesel but no success so far. :(

OK, Do you think i can drive the car like that for the time being? If ever you have any update, reply to the thread.
Thanks a lot man, you've been really helpful :) .. Hope you had a great new year party ;) .. cheers (Y)

Without knowing what that pipe does difficult to say for certain but sounds as if vacuum has been restored. I am puzzled why these two vaccum pipes were detached in the first place? The other one may be linked to the fuel tank breather unit which uses vaccum to evacuate fumes from the fuel tank filter trap. all I could find was this for the w203 no key to components
