I see an increasingly "entitled" attitude in indirect contact with the great unwashed these days, but I hadn't thought that it might also be prevalent in face-to-face dealings with folk.

Jay, it must be hard to step away from a part of your business you and your family have worked so hard to build up, but you're certainly doing it for the best of reasons.

Sad but not surprised to read that you've stepped away from used-car sales. The sales person from whom we bought our current and several Mercedes cars before that, became very unhappy in that line of work, stepped away from the industry and is now in different line of business. He has been followed by a number of other staff, all of which were very knowledgeable and customer focused. They've been replaced by staff that barely know one end of a car from another and a computer system that makes for a soulless customer experience.

Never used them myself, to be honest, never heard of them from this side of the border, however it's refreshing that the company owner comes on a forum explaining why they are closing. Never heard of anything like that happening. It shuts up the gloom & doom merchants bad mouthing the company with all kind of malicious theories
I hope your future plans work out for you the way you want them too & wish that I had heard about your company prior to this

Reading what Jay written pulls my heart strings and I feel for him and his family. What Jay wrote I feel is being felt by many business owners , small and large. I do hope that his revived business venture gives him breathing space and more time for his wife and family.

Enjoyed dealing with you buying and selling the ML .
Just make sure you do spend that extra time with the family , it’ll be far more rewarding than dealing with all the problems that came with selling used cars and trying to make a decent profit.
