Having bought this vehicle second hand on 22/04/2022 and driven it for 3 months I lost steering control light came on the dash and took vehicle to my local garage they said it was possibly the sensor in the steering colum but it could also be the rack they weren't to sure so we went with lets do the cheaper option first £800 later driven it out the workshop and same thing happened. Took it straight back and it has now been with them since 05/10/2022 as we are now waiting for a reconditioned rack from Mercedes.

There email stated:
1875.00 + vat (£2250 inc vat) It’s currently back ordered and will take approx. 2-3 weeks to arrive

I did take out RTI and Gap insurance but this apparently only covers up to £1000.00

Firstly what options do I have?

I've bought the vehicle on finance which is costing £800 a month and not driven it

Was the car bought from a dealer. Have they given you a courtesy car, in the meantime.

Unfortunately many parts are on back order, do Mercedes supply reconditioned parts.

What solution are you looking for.

Yes. As above, if bought from the dealer, they need to cover the fault repair in its entirety, if its happened within the first 3 months (sound like it did?) regardless of the warranty claim limit etc.
