Does anyone know how I can get a Sony Ericsson unlocked and reinstalled with the SE Operating system, and not the re-hash that Vodafone put on ?

The SE update service on their web site looks at the phone, and puts the updated version that is already there on, Vodafone claim that their OS is better than the SE one (!!!) and is "tuned" to their requirments...

Whilst I can find stuff about updating OS on a SE forum, their is little about changing the version from Vodafone ( or Orange for that matter) back to the original.

There are ways to reflash back to "generic" SE firmware from carrier customised versions - typically the process requires a cable, a piece of software and a download credit.

What model of phone? V800? ;-)
