Hi all.
I think, from what I've read in different mb forums and heard from experts, that the torque converter on my w211 is on the way out. My question is. I've got all my maintenance up to date and carried out by the official mb dealer and my service book stamped. Will Mobilo cover the replacement of the torque converter? I haven't asked the dealer yet because I wanted to know the opinion of experts in this forum. I believe Mobilo covers certain parts of the engine and also rust problems. Any comments? Has anyone ever claimed on this insurance?
Regards.
Ted

i doubt it, that would be a warrenty item, always worth a try, you may get some goodwill towards it

The car is 2003. Km. 160,000.
Thanks all for replying.
Ted

Mobilo will not cover it.

Have you spoken to a MB main dealer/ service centre/ recognised indie about this yet? As Alps said above, you may be surprised if you ask the right people the right questions.

In my experience, MB seem to be unusually generous when compared to some of the other manufacturers i've encountered. Give it a go, you never know?

ps: pardon the annoying raised inflection at the end of that last sentence? i've been working with adolescents recently? and they end everything they say with a, Australian? Inflection? as if they're explaining everything?

I'll be speaking to the dealers on Monday. We'll see how they react! I'll post the outcome.
Regards.
Ted

Good Luck Ted. Outcome will be followed with interest.
