e 300d , have managed to replace all glow plugs (head off job). same problems, car will not start when engine goes cold, will only start with aid of easy start being sprayed. kick turns n..n....n...n...n...n.. but engine will not engage, any advice will be kindly appreciated

Have you carried out a cylinder compressions test?.....low compression (due to piston/bore wear) will cause poor starting.

With the engine hot and at idling remove the dipstick and see if there is 'blowback' from the diptube, if there is this would indicate the above.

Otherwise, could be simply air ingress in the fuel system. Check the fuel lines for air bubbles.

Cranking speed , are the plugs actually warming up , pump , air .

What happens if you switch on a couple of times to the preheat condition before you try a start?

I believe that a minimum of 100 RPM is a recommended cranking speed , though many engines will start much slower .

I had an old JCB with a leyland 4.98 NT engine that was dangerously easy to start , it nearly killed a guy who turned it over on the torque converter without wedging the stop out.

Its the time of year for air in fuel problems as the pipes and seals shrink and it makes them difficult to start.

i have checked but there is no blowback from the diptube with engine on idle,
i have tried preheating and it did not make a difference,
i also checked for air in the fuel pipes and there wasnt any , with engine off though there is some air in one pipe but on starting the car the air disappears.
any more things i could check ???
thanks for all your help guys.

I doubt you will see ALL the air.

Replace the "O" rings and try again. They are cheap and easy to replace. It is a good place to start.
