hi there i have a c200 sport 95 when the car warms up to 80 on temp guage it start shaking like mad and the rev counter bounces all over the place it feels like it wants to stall it then rides the storm then alls well again and it seems to only happen as soon as its up to 80 all the time

this was happening to my old 300e(r.i.p),it was the head gasket,im no expert, and im sure others will correct me if this is not the case

It could be anything to be honest! without having access to the car it's difficult to diagnose... Try cleaning the throttle body. Believe it or not, a dirty throttle body is the cause of multiple problems! failing that, I would try a new temp sensor or duff injector???

The temp sensor should be located near the thermostat housing. But I'll try and track it down for you. I was referring to a Knackered fuel injector! a failing injector will more or less give the same symptoms?

When cold, the revs were a little higher disguising the problem somewhat.

The remainder was just a little tlc and a service. Whats your cars mileage?

my carr has 120,000 miles on it ive changed the fuel filter spark plugs engine mounts oil oil filter air filter inthe last two months

dieselman is there a way of finding out if i have a vacum leak

Buy a vacuum gauge and/or spray carb cleaner round any gaskets or joints. Check the EGR valve and charcoal cannister purge valve, if fitted adn security of all vacuum pipes.

sorry for sounding stupid but where is the egr valve charcoal cannister

im going to buy a vacum guage to try and diagnose my car problems cause my car was left into mercedes last week just to see if anything came up on the diagnostics and it was all clear and there is no warning lghts on the dash either so im going to try the vacuum test on it and i need to know what to do and how to do it im geting so close to selling it? but i dont want to so please help any advice is appreciated thanks for your help

My car only seems to do it at idle as soon as it hits 80 degrees temperature and sometimes while driving the car at 60kph it loses speed rapid and when you put the foot down no response just limps to the side of the road this happens not to often
