I think the memory package, glass roof high capacity battery and leather make this quite high spec for an early E230. I think the rest were standard.

Also the leather would have been an optional extra and possibly the air contioning too.

in 1996 the air con was about £2k if it wasnt standard and it also might have a deadlock on the boot which was also an extra back then.

Ill try and dig out a sales booklet for the model from the collection

I was told it was a special order,that's why I wondered.Apparently the previous owners bought 3 the same colour on the same day (02/01/1996) I think mine was the lowest spec one as the others were all taken abroad and this one was left.
I've got some paperwork for a S500 they got in 2001 so not short of a bob.
Personally I find it all quite interesting

Sadly rust wasn't.

You might find that rust is a fairly rare option on a 1996, non-metallic paint W210

I've checked,and the boot does deadlock. After the cars I had seen this one had to come home,I've seen more rust on cars only a few years old.I'll get some pics up eventually with close ups of the arches etc.
