So my CLK270 CDI was getting on a bit, and I thought I may as well look for something a little newer, a little less miles to use for work... I found this locally, got it in at a brilliant price, no Xenons, but every other toy I could think of...

As per usual, I spent the first two days detailing it, but the end result is stunning, love the V6, and the immense power that engine gives out over the 270CDI I had previously... Just need to get used to the size now!

That`s very very nice

Very nice!!! Your wheels look very clean, especially the inside of the rim!!!

Great colour, what is it called ?

Lovely car!! I'm green with envy! :)

Excellent car sir. You're obviously a man of impeccable taste.

I've also heard that all CLS drivers are good looking and irresistible to women. ;)

Great choice of car, it looks stunning.

The 1st gen CLS is one of my favourite MB's. I would love to own one, but the lack of a 5 seat option puts me off. :(

That shouldn't be a problem. The boot is spacious enough for a fifth person. :thumb:

Thanks for the messages :)

I do honestly love it, for a minute I thought it wouldn't suit me being a 29 year old bachelor, but everyone has said this is by far the best car I have bought!

The colour is Carneol Red metallic (i think) with Cashmere Beige interior (again, i think). I absolutely love it, not so sure how economical it is yet, but the way it takes off is amazing for such a big car!

Managed to sort my lack of Xenon issue out with a set of Philips Diamond Vision bulbs, which give it that Xenon look without losing any light output over standard bulbs. Have also run a cable from the glove compartment to the centre console for iPod/iPhone connectivity meaning I can leave my FM transmitter at home.

Also obtained a 2010/2011 Sat Nav disc (v11 I think) which is handy. The previous owner left his Bluetooth module in there too, which meant I could pop the one in my CLK into my B-Class!

In terms of keeping the wheels clean, I use Tesco "Daisy" All Purpose Cleaner diluted 4 parts water, 1 part APC, and what is known as an "EZ Detail" brush. Its the only brush I have found to get right inside with ease :) Have been using the APC for years with no issues on any wheels, even refurbed ones... Just ensure the wheels are cold and let it sit for a few minutes, and 95% of the baked on stuff will come off.

that's a keeper mate :)

:thumb:two thumbs up:thumb:

CLS rocks!

wonderful to see a colour combination that does not involve silver or black

When looking, the criteria was as follows:

1. NOT BLACK OR SILVER!
2. 18in 5 Spokes
3. Comand
4. Heated Seats

I love the colour combo, its the same colour combo I had in my first Mercedes back in 1999, a W202 C250 TD Saloon. Although back then I didnt have leather or Comand. I think the colour back then was Tritanite Red and was slightly lighter in appearance.

Was just looking at tyre prices, 275/35/18 at the rear  thats borderline 911 rear tyre size!

Ouch!

Does anyone know if the exhaust tips can be removed for the purposes of cleaning. I can see a bolt in the bottom, I am thinking they will come straight off once undone. Although I have cleaned them up a lot, there is a lot of embedded black dots i want to remove with some wire wool.
