It looks quite orange in that photo. Chesnut is actually better suited than walnut with a completely black interior, though as you say, each to their own.

It's spotless and very rare in black / black with a panoramic roof so the price is pretty much spot on - you could get it for £17k.

I hear people talk about getting cars for £12k at auction but don't actually see any worth buying. Judging by what I've seen described as 'immaculate' by most dealers I'd say we have differing ideas on what that really is .

I admit not every car in auction is a minter but i've seen a few i would happily buy, and i'm fussy about my cars! There's a dealer down the road from me with a 2000 year SL500 with 34k on the clock up for £18,499, looks a minter. Its obsidian black with the light cream interior, panaromic roof and xenons. Looks nice but i've had enough of Sls at the moment, i've owned 4 R129s.

I'm tempted to buy a W209 CLK350 for summer, seen an 05 plate Obsidian black one with AMG kit, xenons, heated ortho seats and 2 tone black and cream interior. Its up for a bargain price, only covered 10k so may chop the SLK in for it.

I had a play with a CLK63 earlier - lovely apart from the build quality and dodgy small dials and lettering. You notice a real difference getting back in the R129 - the doors actually feel right for one!

That SL you mention sounds very cheap - I'd be interesting in seeing it as someone else I know is looking for a black one but wants <50k miles on it.
