Has a fuse blown ?

I have given up on jump starting cars, too many problems after doing it. Either charge or replace the battery. Then look after it. A trickle charger will save you a fortune in the long run in longer battery life and avoiding unnecessary repairs caused by discharged batteries.

Agree with others a battery in Mercedes / bm etc is no use unless it’s fully charged / bad battery some things not working as should is big possibility. Also when getting one check it’s high power suitable for your car , cranking etc. there’s many m bs starting ok with the batteries in them but the likes of s/s
Memory seats , keyless entry not working as should , radio shutting down few minutes after you turn off engine etc , been there a few times , never had a mb with a battery over 5 yr old that was any good

Like everything....if you look after the battery then (assuming it is one of the decent brands and especially Varta ime) it will last a long time - 16 years on my 211 and 18 years on a BMW e46.....cars on trickle chargers when not being used is the key. My trickle chargers have paid for themselves many times over.

Unfortunately that's no longer true. While my CLK battery was still going strong at 13 years old, both my C Class and SLC batteries were replaced when only 4 years old ( Mercedes / Varta). The wife's and daughters Nissans both had theirs replaced under warranty before they were 3 years old. All the failed batteries came from stop/start cars, a feature we all switch off and do not use, and all on cteks when not in use yet the batteries still failed early!

Ah yes stop start and gel batteries and super high power alternators.....another reason to skip the last generations of ICE cars and stick with the pre adblue, pre DPF, pre stop start, pre problematic sensors, pre plated emissions levels, all remind me why I went backwards in age of cars.......:)
Good early 2000s cars are about as good as they get imho
