Need to check for A208 battery drain, do I need to wait for car to go to 'sleep' first?

I suspect something might be draining the battery slightly on my A208 CLK430. I've just fitted a new battery as the old one was wasn't the correct spec and was of unknown age, but the voltage is still dropping slightly after the car has been standing for a week. I read up on how to check for a parasitic battery drain, and that the electric seat module is a likely culprit to look at, but I can't find out for sure whether I need to wait for the car to go to 'sleep' before using the ammeter to check. Does anyone know for sure how long you need to wait for the car to go to 'sleep'?

Ideally, yes.

You also need a multimeter that hasn't got a fuse in it as they often blow so you wont get a reading. I use a cheapo Sealey one for this exact job. Lock the boot catch over manually, lock the car and wait 10-20 mins. should be no more than 0.06A in an ideal world.

This one.

Seat control units on 208's are not common to cause a drain btw. On 203's certainly.

Thank for the info. I've checked my multimeter, it isn't a Sealey model but the spec is identical (i.e. the 10amp socket is unfused), so I'll give a go using that. I assumed the electric seat issue would be common to MB's of this era, but if not, are there any common causes specific to the A208 that I should check first?
