Hi

I'm the proud owner of a 190 2.6 Sportline ....

Pretty much FSH and 171,000 miles

So far it has had:

Wheel Refurb
New tyres all round
New plugs
New dizzy / rotar arm
One back wing painted
Replacement back lights inc seals
Replacement grill insert
Replacement headlight bulbs

Immediate needs:

Fluid change
Rear door cards sorting (anyone recommend a good repairer Derbyshire area)
Mixture screw repair kit

It has had a clay / clean / polish and will probably get the buffer on the boot when I have a little more time

So .... couple of pics ... not great as I couldn't find a suitable spot

And just because I like B+W

Welcome to the forum!

Wow - that's a very clean and tidy motor you have. :thumb:

I don't know if you're the social type or not, but if you are then we have a little gathering going on this coming Sunday in Baslow. See the 'Events' section for details.

Nice looking car , the 2.6 is one of the all-time greats . I had one myself for a while .

Is the problem with the door cards that the surface is lifting along the top edges ? This is quite common on 190's for some reason . I took mine off and stuck them back with Araldite , clamping the edge between two pieces of wood until it set , was still fine when I sold the car on a couple of years later .

Also be aware of the mercedes-190.co.uk forum . A couple of us on there are pro photographers too . What kind of photography do you do ? ( I work for the Fire Service doing PR & forensic work ) .

Welcome along and a very nice motor.

Rear head rests in leather too. Not a lot of them about.

Any chance of some inside shots please.

He has already posted these pictures over on mercedes190.co.uk.;)

Thanks for the welcome guys

Yep I'm a member of the mercedes190.co.uk but thought I'd cover my bases :)

I would be up for a get together - unfortunately a wedding on Sunday (as I'm a wedding and portrait photographer)

The door cards are all lifting - the backs being the worst - but they also feel very loose at the bottom - as if that isn't attached either.

I don't want to make a mess of it - hence if anyone knew of a proper repairer local

Do you use the 190 as your "work" car. You must get some very interesting positive comments about it.
Not sure if I would like to leave it unattended at hotels or church yards though.

It will be .... even though nice ... there are usually more expensive looking ones to divert attentions
