I'd love to put in an order for the new c63 but I've just been out in my c63 for the first time in a few weeks and it struck me why should I shell out an extra £30,000 or so to buy the new version (apart from keeping up with new technology) when my car is so quick, way beyond sensible speeds on public roads, we get so persuaded by advertising and journalists reports, I've been down this road many times before, 911, Ferrari, Lamborghini, I'm coming to the conclusion that if I want to move forward in motoring terms my next car will be a Tesla.

Agreed - I'm in a 63 plate 507 so other than the black, arguably the best of the old generation and I drove the c63s for 2 hours, was laughing to myself and few days later I ordered one - and I think the looks of the saloon are debatable but it drives amazingly. It has all the character you expect from AMG plus more of everything.

It depends what you're looking for really. It's also a very personal thing.
My ultimate car was built in 1989, it's this an AMV8 Vantage 580X :-
But each time my income increases the value of these increases by more!
You could chase numbers and handling until you're blue in the face, but that old AM is my sweet spot.
Any C63 AMG would run rings around it, but that's losing the point.
