Hi all I'm Marcus and I am from Bristol.

I was planning to save up and buy a CLK430 but the other week a put a bid on an ebay CLK that looked like it may go for lots less than its worth and ended up winning it.

So now I have a 99 CLK320 Elegance and overall I am very happy with it.

It does a list of jobs to do but its had no rust on any arches or the bootlock and at 140k drives lovely. I do plan however to fix the niggly faults which I hope this site will give me some valuable info :)

Main Faults.

Waterpump Pully wobbles, have ordered new pump and star sockets, plus found a how to guide and will aim to do that job on the weekend.

Blowers have 1 Setting and that roasting hot. Next job, hopefully I can find info on the problem searching the forums

PDC does not work, all 3 displays show 2 red bars which shows something is faulty.

The Comand had no Nav CD so I need to work out where to find one.

Boot does not pop open with button and the headrests don't drop by pushing the button either but that's on the low priority list

I plan a service myself and then get the car into a garage to have the gearbox oil changed.

I am sure there will be more stuff but car has 12 months mot and is overall looking good for her age.

regards

welcome to the forum nice to see yet another clk owner

Thanks for the welcome, I looking forward to owning this car for a few years and if I am happy with it then upgrade to a 430 in the future :)

Update on my CLK :)

Waterpump Pully wobbles, have ordered new pump and star sockets, plus found a how to guide and will aim to do that job on the weekend. Have replace the waterpump, car now runs lovely

Blowers have 1 Setting and that roasting hot. Next job, hopefully I can find info on the problem searching the forums. Fixed itself, but need to look into the non working air con

PDC does not work, all 3 displays show 2 red bars which shows something is faulty. Cars has been on Star and I have identified the 2 broken sensors, will replace when I get round to it :)

The Comand had no Nav CD so I need to work out where to find one. Ongoing as CD didn't fix the problem

Boot does not pop open with button and the headrests don't drop by pushing the button either but that's on the low priority list. Fixed, the airline to the bootlock was disconnected

I plan a service myself and then get the car into a garage to have the gearbox oil changed. Gearbox Oil has been done by Specialist, will service in next few weeks

I am sure there will be more stuff but car has 12 months mot and is overall looking good for her age.

Need to replace the centre console section (the bit covered in leather) as the leather has been damaged, though can't find one for sale anywhere.

Has possible MAF issue as after a while of driving she accelerator starts to feel less responsive.

Might lower her as she is an elegance and thus a bit wholly on the handling.

After 6 weeks of owning her, I am liking the car more and more which each little bit that is fixed not sure how long I will keep her as I originally wanted a CLK430 and still want one.

Why settle for a 430?
