Hi Guys

Just fitted a new battery to my 2012 C250 cdi estate. Good news I have brake hold function and eco stop start functions back (not sure eco stop start is a good thing ;-) )

Bad news the car has thrown an error code now with the airbag.
Code B27352B stored,
The Squib for Pyro fuse onboard electrical network line has a malfunction. The Electrical lines have a short circuit to each other.

Having done some research I found the "squib" to be a small yellow and blue plug device that's plugged into the pyro fuse on the positive terminal on the battery.

If I disconnect it, I don't read a short, but the two pins of the pyro fuse (on the battery terminal) are reading less than 1ohm.

Do I really need a new pyro fuse or am I missing something?? The car works fine everything is working apart from this error message and code.

I have booked it in at my local indy next week but I hate being beaten by these kind of things. So any clues or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Yeah I did see that thread, but I tried the suggested method but it made no difference.

I guess I will have to se what my local indy says next week. They have the proper Star diagnosis equipment. It just annoys me that changing a battery can cause issues, Its not just Mercs that are affected either.

The reason I changed it was because I was loosing some of the features of the car because the battery wasn't holding full capacity.. I find it crazy how cars react like this, can they not put a message up n the dash saying battery low or something instead of just losing features that the car once had so I had to guess what was wrong.? rant over LOL

Did you read that linked thread to the end? Loose connection on positive post?

Yeah I did, Refitted the battery and checked the connections. Still get the error code.

Did you clear the error to see if it will come back? It could be a one-off? Also, this video looks interesting in helping to clear the error code - of course if you have a genuine fault, simply clearing the error will not be a permanent fix with the error code coming back again.

Thanks for the replies guys I think I may have found the issue. The connector referred to on the videos and other thread (yellow and blue plastic connector) may be the problem after all. I removed the battery again today and found the orange end cap of the yellow blue plastic connector ( I think this is referred to as the squib??) was broken off. I pushed it back in but there seems to be some parts broken off the orange end cap. I think this may be the issue. The connector does fit back onto the batter terminal fine but I think the orange end cap holds the internal parts apart inside the squib possibly

The part code on it is a2045463880 and on the orange cap is stamped H031112.

Does anybody know if I can order this part on its own as I don't really want to buy a whole new battery cable.

Any advice appreciated thanks.

Contact the parts dept at your local MB dealership and ask them to supply these two parts (using the parter numbers you stated) and see what they quote you!

Hi All, quick update.

Had the part replaced at my local MB specialist. Merc would only sell me a new wiring loom at big £££... what a joke..

My local indy sourced a brand new yellow/blue squib connector as per the part kindly posted by geoffus... Its very unclear on the merc schematic as this part is shown as just a box and no actual picture, but the description on the schematic seems to match. Any way part replaced, fault cleared in MB star software and all is good.

So if you think about changing your battery, please be careful not to brake the battery cable connections or you could be in a world of pain as I was.. LOL

The part I needed is part 935 as shown below... see what I mean..

Merry Christmas..

Glad you got it sorted and thanks for the update.
