Good afternoon all,
Newbie here - I signed up yesterday and have already registered to attend the Benz on the Green event in May. Looking forward to it.
I have a mint 2008 CLK 350 Sport Cabriolet in Chromite Black with tan leather. I love it - bought it last year with 32k on the clock. It's a weekend toy for me - the daily hack is a 2010 Mondeo!!
Anyway, I've had the car for 7 months now and have got it pretty much sorted. It's cost £1,300 to get "right" but I think now it's in fine fettle.
Since buying it, I've replaced all the discs and pads with OEM to cure chronic squeal and binding, and it's just had a B service at my local Merc Indy (Huxleys in Fleet, Hampshire). I've also replaced the auto box oil and filters and had some work done on the front suspension bushes (and also had a new suspension arm fitted).
It's running beautifully now.
Before buying I did my homework and checked that my engine # was well outside the dreaded danger zone for the well-publicised sprocket issue on the M273 engines.
Huxleys also checked over the car after I bought it and checked all fault codes which were clear.
So my question is - is there anything else I need to think about?
M273 engine woes aside, my research before buying didn't seem to point to any major issues other than the usual "check it all works" stuff.
Any thoughts welcome. And thanks again for having me!!
