I Ordered a pair of air filters for my 03 SL55 AMG from my local friendly MB dealer.. along with new gas struts for the boot, and new Genuine combination cabin filters... The cabin filters replaced some Mann aftermarket ones which are up under the passenger side dash cover.
I took the combination filter covers off and the old filters literally fell out! non genuine Mann filters that has a foam edge instead of the genuine rubber seal edge... the new filters were a nice snug fit.. the old ones has some debris in but were not too bad... Next the gas struts went on , pretty simple to fit. then the air filters... hmmmm... turns out I had been supplied the wrong ones.. these were 50mm thick my old ones only 42mm thick,. and no AMG branding as expected.
old ones returned... new correct ones ordered.. only to find they had only ordered one! more delays... hmmm... finally the correct 42mm thick AMG (pair) of filters turned up... to be fair to the parts dept, they wrote off the price difference in my favour... as an apology.
If you have an 03 SL55AMG the air filters don't come as a pair... so order 2.. the part number is A113 094 00 04
