Hi all, looking into buying a CLK55 AMG so thought i'd sign up on here! Looked at one this morning, having never owned a Merc before I wasnt really sure what I was looking at apart from the obvious.

Is there a buying guide or anything I can look at for these? (W209 I think - late 2003 model?). I've heard about the horrific corrosion stories on the merc's, is it a case of being lucky and getting a clean one or do they all suffer? All 4 arches on the one today were fine, looked original paint as well. Do they rust anywhere else?

Welcome Chris, nice choice of car. I don't think there were too many corrosion issues with the later cars. Hope you find the right one for you!
