Welcome to MBClub. Congratulations on your new car …lovely 👌🏻

Sun‘s out guns out buddy

Hello and welcome , you’ll enjoy your SLK

Not according to the title of the thread

Looks like an SLK to me too. Grey paint and red leather is the colour choice of champions.

The photo looks to me like it’s an SLK (R172) with an aftermarket grille fitted, giving it an SL(ish)appearance
That's why I'm confused it looks more like a 2003 SL350 with a new grill to me, nothing like a 2003 SLK it had the slopy front end and no grills in the bonnet or side of wings. And those running lights are the same as on my SL400 so nothing like a SLK.

OK I've just realised its a modern SLK (SLC) not a 2003 as mentioned in his info. that must be old info I think. Because even the old 2003 SL had a slopy front as well. I didn't realise the R172 was the "modern" version 👍

I think it’s the R172 SLK that followed the facelift R171 and immediately preceded the SLC which was effectively a facelifted R172

Winsoxuk, is it an SLK or an SL Please

It's definitely an SLK the guy that had it before me spent thousands on it it's still running on a maintenance plan Mercedes !

It had an AMG exhaust fitted on it as well so I'm finding out and have lots of other changes done all done by a Mercedes specialist.

Forgot to apologise all these emails that were receiving will go in into spam!

On top of this the guy sent it away every year to be fully detailed and also to have all the seals oiled and cleaned this alone was costing in 300 pound just to have the seals done.

He also had ambient lighting fitted within the car and the bill for that is unbelievable!

In addition to this forum which is excellent of course, another great resource for SLK owners is the SLKworld forum. Definitely worth checking out if you want/need SLK specific information that you can’t find here and if you want to meet up, go on run outs etc with other SLK owners.

Sorry its just me being Doh!

I was fooled by your information which says you have a 2003 SL350.

Its clearly neither a 2003 SL or SLK

I keep forgetting how close the "new" SLK/SLC looks to the SL, so much so when passing one on the road its really difficult to decide if its an SL or SLK/SLC

Very nice car, and i do agree that the newer SLK models do look like the SL.... until you see a similar aged SL parked closely to the SLK!

More importantly ( Get the tar and feathers ready ) Volvo 850R .... That is an excellent car, wouldn't mind a photo of that one!!
