Hello, New Here and New MB Owner,

Recently purchased a C220 CDI Blueifficiency Exec - Auto 2013 Plate (now on private plate) with around 63K on the clock, having looked at a few posts / browsing of the internet I have seen that seems to be a few comments regarding the sub frame not actually checked for this yet but will be soon and hoping it isn't an issue, Also it an outstanding recall for the Taketa airbag.

Is there anything else I should look out for? All comments / Advice appreciated.

Welcome fellow S204 owner!
When you get the subframe checked out, have your garage also check the condition of the rear brake lines - they are known to corrode.
Cracked/buckled alloys can also be an issue, although yours being an Executive model it's probably of 17inch wheels which slightly higher profile tyres which helps.
The Electronic Steering Lock can cause problems but normally gives notice by starting to play up a while before it fails. Any issues in that area should be looked at before it fails completely because if it fails in the locked position it's a PITA to repair.
Parking brake mechanisms can seize up.
Both the driver and passenger front airbags have had recalls on them. I'd guess that your driver side has already been done.

Thanks for the response SpikeyMikey,

I will be putting the car over a pit in work either this weekend or next so I'll check and/or ask one of the Techs to take a look at these aswell, I've read a few people have had MB pick up the costs issues with the subframe due to it rotting from the inside, I might mention this when i get the recalls done and test the waters see what they say. When initially got it i did find release the park brake wouldn't always release fully up, gave it a little time as over the last few years of the cars life I don't think it has done much (average 2k-3k between last few MOT's) I stuck it down to lack of use and going to monitor and look at lubricate foot mechanism if necessary.

Yep, the parking brakes tend to prefer being used rather than not.

Down side I'm still getting used to is the move forward after initially applying it, I'm sure with time I'll get used to it.
