hi to everyone on this forum , i have just joined today i should have done it long ago but with all your combined knowledge most of my problems were sorted by reading the threads . i would like to thank everybody for their input it has saved me a lot of time and money once again thank you . hope someone can help me once again i own a ml 270 automatic i have plugged in my carsoft i980 and it comes up with no communication with engine ecu the problem is if i select R the car jolts into reverse and if i select D the car jolts forward but i have to rev to 3000 to get it to crawl hope someone has any solution thanks shawn.

My Icarsoft MB2 will not talk to some ecu's on our ML270.
AS a guess, have you checked the transmission ecu connection is not contaminated with gear box oil, its a known issue. you will have to remove the drivers side lower panel, then the foot parking brake to access the module and plug.
You could also look under the car to see if the plug is leaking at the gearbox, i had mine changed when gearbox oil changed.
Thats another question, when was the oil in the gearbox last changed, every 40,000 miles is recommended.
And i would suspect its the transmission module you need to speak to, not engine one.

Hi, welcome to another ML owner

Yeah, welcome. I'm with Joderest, if you don't know, change the transmission oil, and clean/replace the filter, it sounds exactly like oil level. Always start with the easiest option.

Welcome and yes do as advised, change oil/filter but definately check or change the connector at side of transmission and if oil is present look to see if it has reached the Trans ECU.

Also its Firstly worth doing a hard reset, disconnect battery for 10-15 mins and touch the two leads together once disconnected.

Any history?
