2009 e320cdi sport
Hi all, just joined for some advice please so please go easy on me!
Just purchased my 3rd e class, (just sold my 2013 e350cdi, designo edition. I now have a 2009 320cdi sport.
recently I had a e280 (2005 avant-garde) a couple of years back and it drive 100 times better Than this sport.
it was tight and positive and very smmoth/ quiet. My sport is very poor unfortunately, however I suspect the front shockers are worn and springs weak. It sits very low at the front and if I push on the wings it bounces without much dampening. Also when going over an uneven surface it seems to keep bouncing allover(allmost like the wheels are going up and down very fast).
The rear isn't much better, off centred road bumps on a corner makes the rear end feel twitching and the full car seems to sway.
this makes the car feel very unsettled, I know springs have colour codes but I am not sure if the ones on the car are correct! I am looking for common issues or places to look for issues.
i was thinking first of front shockers and springs to start off with.
The disks and pads will be getting changed and the wheels will be rebalanced when refurbished so that will only help with any other vibrations i have. (Around 50mph a steering wheel wobble)

Also if I don't use MB parts what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Forum.

I have answered your other post. It isn't ideal having the same post running under 2 different threads as it can lead to the answers being split. 👍

Yes thanks I saw your reply, I couldn't get the new members part to work lastnight so posted, I will delete the other post. Thanks again

Welcome

Hi all, thanks for the welcomes!
I've rang mercedes today and they are a fortune for parts! I gat discount but it was well over £180 per shocker, over £89 per spring ( he did say its green green yellow) front disks and pads were £228 plus vat, I just changed them on my w212 e350 cdi and they were £160 in vat for fronts! (From same merc dealer in teesside) I may check again tomorrow as these seem way off and way more than some of you guys have been saying!

Anyone have any suggestions on aftermarket parts please?

Thanks

Try euro car parts. They always have some form of sale on and I got a great deal on rear discs and pads for my previous merc (2014 e class coupe). Are you going to Sytner in Teesside? I used to go there but had varying experiences. I now use MB of Darlington
Very experienced and very realistic pricing. Proof of how good is how far ahead you need to book stuff in.

Thanks, yes I tried euros and they were more than merc on some parts. I use teesside merc all the time for my work but as of late they have been up and down with pricing and service. I am getting very conflicting info on the shockers, some places state one type and some say different for the spec of car. I would think it's quite critical for the sport giving a firmer ride! I will keep on it for a good deal.
Thanks

Try AUTODOC on one of their 41% sales , my car was all Sachs components

Was that from autodoc? I did look but it seemed vague for selection parts for the sport version. I may look again.
Thanks
