2013 cls 350 cdi
Hi everyone
New member here.
Owned a 2013 cls 350 cdi shooting brake for nearly 5 years and its now done 150k.
In your opinions with regular services how long do these engines remain reliable?
I love the car and until I get forced out through a clean air zone charge in the North West...I would like to keep it...
Thanks for any input in advance...
Dave

Hi and welcome.....it's like Triggers broom.....you keep replacing stuff on the motor as it breaks and it could last forever! Bore wear is almost a thing of the past as long as you change the oil regularly. My 170,000 car still had the cross hatch marks on the bores! But there comes a time when the costs of keeping it going outweigh what you want to pay in relation to its value.....then it's time to go.
I know an E220 cdi with 280,000 miles that's never had the head off.....and that gets serious abuse.....and of course go to a city like Birmingham and there a E350 taxis with 350 to 400 thousand miles on all over the place and running smooth as! The bodies and running gear and of course the dreaded electrics tend to die well before the engines on modern cars.

Yes...tell me about it..
I have an annoying intermittent fault...
No warning lights but goes into limp mode and just says no voltage readings on Esp ...turn it off and back to normal for a week or 2...
Just changed the battery as the guys I take it too said its a possibility??
Drives like a new car around this almost impossible to diagnose fault
