CLK 200K conv '03
Hello

I have just sold my Audi 2.4 Conv and have placed a deposit on what seems a very nice 03 200k Elegance convertible. 39,000 miles, 2 lady owners ( yeah i know)... but it is in absoultely lovely condition.

Never had a Merc before... would buying a wind deflector be a good idea... it was in the Audi.

Plus any other tips gratefully rec'd

Sween.

My CLK Convertible didn't come with a wind deflector so I have nothing to compare things with, but it seems perfectly fine for me without one :)

Hello Sweeney, welcome from a fellow newbie!

I don't know about the CLK, but I agree with you, I certainly needed the wind deflector with my A4 Cab...

Good luck with the new car, they're lovely.

Welcome and nice choice of motor.;)

We have a deflector for our CLK cab, but tbh, have never used it:o

You don't happen to have a brother called Todd do you? ;)

Ok second dumb question

what is Tip in relation to the auto gearbox and what will it do for me?

:o

It allows you to manually shift up/down/hold the gears in the auto gearbox. Tiptronic for its full name. If you go on to the MB website and look up owners manuals, find one with a 5/7 speed box and all will be revealed. It reads quite confusing at first but it all becomes clear after a few re-reads.

Welcome by the way:D

I've run two CLK cabs (W208 CLK320 and W209 CLK55 AMG) and didn't have a wind deflector with either of them. I was ok with that, but missus didn't like her hair blowing all over the place. If you can get one "on the cheap" go for it.

Welcome and enjoy!

Yes, the wimin like the wind deflector. I was lucky enough to pick one up on Flea Bay for £70 but no storage bag.

Nice car, nice choice, and welcome.

Hi sweeney,
Welcome to the forum, great choice of car, I have a clk 200 komp w209 and its a great choice of car, compared to the audi sound proofing, scuttle shake is non existent. with the hood up.

with regards to the wind deflector I dont have one, but having borrowd one I would recommend it highly - whether it justifies the mb price, probably not ,
check it out on ebay or loot and try and get one on the cheap

hope this helps

thanks to all for the welcomes..
