New rules ISA to be fitted soon to all cars .

I disregard any news items originating from the 'Birmingham Mail' as they seem to be pure clickbait.

"The speed limiters have been widely welcomed by motorists and road experts - and Graham warned drivers against taking things into their own hands and trying to 'fix' it so that the ISA never comes on in their car. He said: “While it might seem like an innocent change to the car’s set-up, doing so could have serious implications.

“A car is fitted with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems like ISA for a very good reason, and a manufacturer could take a very dim view of that technology being bypassed. You could very easily void a manufacturer’s warranty by doing so.”"

More scaremongering designed to frighten motorists. The system is not required by law in the UK and if fitted to any new car you will be able to switch it off, without voiding your warranty.
So, just another thing to add to the stop/start system switch off procedure when you start your car every day. Journalism standards really are dire these days.

Birmingham Mail appears to be a bit behind the times; a quick Google and you find that the EU regulation came into force on the 6th July 2022.

That very same story was posted on many car forums about 2 years ago.....never happened. Also for the first few years its proposed that you will be able to switch it off anyway.....and also it will be over ridden with a heavy enough push of the throttle should you need to get out of trouble.?...what's the point of that??? Its either to stop you speeding or not.....

So yes it seems they will be fitted to UK cars... but we won't have to use it. We always going to be as no one was going to build separate versions for the tiny UK market. Mandatory in mainland Europe though...so this feature says....

Hasn't this been discussed years ago? A system that limits the car's speed to the permitted road speed, to be fitted as standard to all new cars, as of this year? Like cruise control, or Srart/Stop, it's a system that the drive can activate or deactivate at will. Or is this a different thing?

This is from last year:

"Please note: Although the legislation states that speed limiters must be fitted to new cars, it does not necessarily require them to be activated"

Before we get to double-digit pages...: if you don't like the new speed limiter, just switch it off ;)
