Dear forum,

Firstly I'd like to thank you all as this forum really assisted me before, during and after I purchased my car. I'm sure my motivations aren't dissimilar to the majority of members here so I'll save you the massive backstory. However, in order to be at least a little polite I'll provide some information about me and my car.

Me: Typical midlife crisis move. I've owed a couple of somewhat fun cars since I was in my teens (e46s, Golf GTI mk5, Porsche Cayenne, even a couple of Mitsubishi FTO Mivecs when I was really young, short on cash and a touch stupid... don't hold it against me.) Happened upon my car when a dear friend needed to move country and had to sell. I know him from the old country and knew he'd looked after it so we came to an agreement. Honestly (and this is probably the unoriginal part) I can recall the first time I saw the W204 C63 on Top Gear when Clarkson referred to it as "an axe murderer with headlights". I was too young to even consider owning one but as time has passed the opportunity arose and I really enjoy driving again, albeit in London. I have owned the car for about 7 months and do the odd track day (generally quarterly) followed by a good service by the mechanic who looked after the car when my friend owned it. I tend to go to Snetterton or Silverstone for track days.

The car:
2009 W204 C63 AMG 6.2 V8 61k miles.
19" AMG carbon multi spoke wheels (with a little more curbing than I'm comfortable with).
Colour: black
The only modification is an aftermarket Apple CarPlay unit that works with the pop-up screen and the idrive unit.
I don't plan on modifying the car at all as I feel there are fewer and fewer of this model that haven't been modded and for the time being at least I'm in custodian mode rather than anything else.

That's about it - will post a picture of the car for those interested and look forward to learning more as I go.

Thanks again,
AO

PS this is my second attempt today as I managed to close my original post accidentally before posting - *shakes head*
