As i said , another job on the W124 260E is in the pipe line .My antifreeze is 3 years old , i used Commer G48 last time .And i will be useing it again in April next .. I had problems last time i did this , and it took over 6 months to get the system right . I had this idea of letting the coolant out with the drain on on the side of the block it the part you remove for the pre heater .. It was in a bad possition and i had no room to work on it Also read the people had taken them out ,and trouble was when the part would not go back in .So i removed bottom hose flushed it through 3 or 4 times till only clear water was running out .Drained ithe system again by removing the bottom hose ,.Then i put the right amount of antifreeze in, and topped it up with distiled water. But now i think i have the tool for the job.--i am waiting for it to turn up .popopppp.jpg

looks interesting. How does it work? One thing to remember, is to ensure that the heating is set to max before draining the system.

14 emerc yes i did all that the last time i replaced the water pump ,and the coolant . Well you know how the coolant expands with heat and traped air .This tool fits in the expansion bottle and stops coolant over flowing out as it comes up to temperature . You can see them in action on youtube ..

Have you still got the link to this?
Or, what should I put in to google

It was some time last year when i saw them in action .But i will see what i can find . Just had an email from Amazon to say its on the way . Yes you guessed it from China slipped up with that order, i try to get every thing from uk only. But i am not to botherd .The thing is, i dont think i have seen them anywhere else .. Thats why i jumped at it as soon as i came across it on Anazon.

Just what i did last time i replaced the coolant after new pump was fitted. But must have been an air lock some place. And no i put a few pints of distiled water in first then the right amount of antifreeze, finish off with distilled water . Reason is mixing it up you can get to a point its looks full and you still have more of the 50/50 mix to go in

14marc i have looked amd i can find no info on the one i purchased .Only the yellow tub type with a plunger , stoper, in the base . I will need to wait to see how you fix it in to do its work. I will let you know more on arrival .
