No alarm siren

Hi chaps, had to strip down my ml270 wiper assembly to grease the linkages as my wipers have been sticking recently. This have me the ideal opportunity to see what type of alarm siren I have so I could order a new one. Turns out I don't have 1 there or on the bulk head, so now am at a loss as to the location? Any ideas where I should look?

under the wheel arch liner i believe.

I hope so. If the car is opened with the key once I've locked it with fob the indicators flash, so surely that means I have an alarm?!
