No go

Used the car this morning and everything was fine. Went to go out again at 4pm the car opened normally via the key fob, lights come on internal and external, got in the car entered key into ignition and turned and nothing, no lights on dash nothing. Gear selector also stuck in park and there is 12.4v at the battery which I tested with a test meter. Anyone any ideas of what is wrong.
The car also locks using the key fob

Sorry the car is an E class 350CDI 2010 with 80k on clock.

Have you tried the second key? I had a key fob fail in this way.

Yes I have I have also tested the batteries in the fob

Hi all apparently it is a sterling lock motor failure, car being collected this afternoon. Great start to the new year.
