Hi All,

I've just picked up my new (to me) 2003 E320 CDI Avantgarde. I'm new to the forum and new to Merc ownership.

I'll post some pictures later on, but I have a quick question.

On the the drive home, the multi function display came up with a picture of a car and a up arrow and the message said "Visit Workshop"

As part of the purchase I had 4 new tyres fitted, because of the age of the car, these were obviously just budget ones. Is this likely to cause this issue?

Is there any fault finding things i can do to try and identify what component has cause this message?

(Sorry for posting this in the wrong section!) :fail

Welcome, won't the tyres, more likely suspension issues. Does it have airmatic?

Welcome on board not familiar with that message in the mft but sure someone will be along shortly who is

Thanks for the welcome all.

Yes Mr Hanky, I believe it does, there is a switch on the centre console to change between comfort, sports 1 & sports 2 settings

Welcome, needs to be plugged into STAR to properly diagnose

Okay it is a suspension too low warning. Is it a red warning?

Could be alot of things ie strut / rear bag, faulty pump or leakibg pipe / union block.

You will need to see investigate if it has a leak or the pump is not working properly. I would get it on star and see what codes come up.

Ok, thanks. What is STAR and can I do the same thing if I plug an ODB II cable in and scan it with my laptop?

Don't think a generic reader can interrogate the airmatic system but could be wrong.

If it was my car, I would check the pump is operating and not leaking first. If all is okay, I would move on to the struts using a spray to check for air leaks.
