It’s not a major thing but I do think a decent made reg plate makes a difference to the look of a car. Like an utter plank I transferred my plate onto my car ( been on retention for a while ) and when I got paperwork back and was time to put them on the merc I realised I had plate surrounds and would of had holes showing where they was screwed to previous car so I ordered some of eBay. They was total crap and looked so cheap.

I think the German style plates look good and although I’m not a great lover of plate surrounds you can get some nice ones of those to.

What have you guys got and where did you get them. Loads of German style plates on eBay but I prefer the embossed letters on metal background rather than the fully pressed ones.

I had a 'cheap' set of ebay, they delaminated.

I hate buying from Halfords as they are overpriced with most things but their plates are decent and legal and I can get them in 10 mins.

There are the metal ones and also the raised gel-type which seem to be popular right now

^^^ Same here - although without any logos ;)
I felt the pressed plate on its own looked better, so didn't use any frames/holders/surrounds, etc.

I first had metal pressed plates but eventually didn't like the "matt" finish and have now gone with "3d gel" which look better.

I buy my plates from the main dealer. Reasonably priced and carries the Mercedes logo. I also buy the plate holders from the dealer too, again reasonably priced.

I got the pressed metal ones from ebay with the black surround and no logo.
I bought thick sticky pads to fix them to the rear of the car so there are no screw heads.
The advantage of the metal ones is that I could bend it to sit properly against the front number plate holder.
I had standard ones before that and I prefer the pressed ones.

I had some nice metal raised German plates on my old 911, now sadly sold
