O-62 in 1.4 secs

Impressive. From their website:

"New Guinness World Record for "Fastest 0-100 km/h acceleration by an electric car". This is not only a world record but also the first time an electric vehicle has reached the sub-one second milestone."

BTW, the chap is wrong - 0-100kmh is not the same as 0-60mph - and the manufacturers' figures for each are (rightly) different.

Very impressive . A top fuel drag car does that in 0.8 seconds.....but they have to burn a lot of dead dinosaurs to get there and re build the clutch and engine after every run. My guess is they just have to plug this back in and go for a cup of coffee between runs :p

It would be great to see just how fast these boffins could make this thing go over 1/4 mile.

That's over 2g. How?

Suction improving the traction.

Yep, 100km/h is 62.1mph

They also said in the video that unlike a dragster their car was capable of going round a track. I assume for the 0-100 kph sprint it's only carrying enough battery capacity to make a single run at a time.

The closest most might get to is the rollercoaster in the USA that does 0 - 150 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Tesla Plaid takes 9 seconds to 150 mph.

I think you could design a battery pack that can be swapped as quickly as you can refuel an F1 car, but as things stand you'll need more frequent pit stops....

Haha, yes.

I'd guess the car doesn't have an onboard battery heating/cooling system, which would limit the run time anyway.

The Ducati Panigale V4R charges pretty hard to 150 mph - but i think you probably need a fair amount on minerals to experience that!

Hi,
The fastest accelerating thing that I have ever been in/on is the Formula Rossa ride at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.
It accelerates you using the same sort of catapult they use to launch jets on an aircraft carrier!
0-240 km/h in just 4.9 seconds (and a stomach churning 4.8g!)
It feels amazing!

Cheers
Steve
