Went to a small GTG yesterday and the road in to the venue was like a rally track with horse cr@p, mud and deep puddles for a couple of miles:wallbash:
The car was filthy, so today I got to try the Poorboys Black Hole sealant after giving the car a thorough wash. It's turned out pretty well I think and a big thumbs up to Black Hole..
Didn't have the energy to finish with the untried Bilt Hamber double speed wax, but that is for tomorrow.
Just a few from todays clean up.DSCF0297.jpg DSCF0298.jpg DSCF0300.jpg DSCF0302.jpg DSCF0301.jpg DSCF0304.jpg

Love it Rog!

^ The guy with his missus and couple of dogs in the last photo asked if I wanted to sell it:D

Still not jealous not even a little bit lol :D

Looks lovely bud:rock:

Can't beat a clean black car ! Shame they don't stay that way for long! :(

Looking very very nice! :)

So today I gave the car the Bilt Hamber Double speed wax treatment.
I found out a couple of things. Firstly, use it sparingly. I used too much on the bonnet and nearly gave up doing the rest, so hard was it to polish the wax off. Lesson learned, use less and its far easier to polish.
The second thing learnt was, I needed a polisher:D.
So, I went a bought this one which is cheap for a first time user and has decent reviews.

I doubt it will be used until after winter now, so plenty of time to collect extra foam pads and polishing discs.

I did take a few more photos, but as the sky is overcast compared to yesterday , the paintwork actually looks worse in the photos. It's an illusion. The car really has come up well and I'm pleased with both products. Just a few pics taken near to Poole Harbour this afternoon.DSCF0305.jpg DSCF0306.jpg DSCF0307.jpg DSCF0308.jpg

I used black hole some years ago on a car that I bought as a stopgap.

Once home from th dealer and washed a few times it was obvious that someone had cleaned the bonnet with something very abrasive, the dealer had hidden this very well so I wanted to do the same.

Black hole was great for this but I never learned how to seal it properly so that it lasted more than a wash or two.

I think that Crystal serum is the product to use to seal the paintwork. It's not cheap though:eek:

That really is a nice motor.
Love that interior.
And that's what I call a perfect car park, nowt else on. :D

How did you find the application of the black hole? I've had a quick try on the boot of my car but either I'm not applying it correct or I'm screwing up some other way as it didn't seem to have made much difference?

^ I used a small square of muslin cloth to apply the Black Hole, doing a small section at a time in circular motions and a large microfibre polishing cloth to remove it.
I'd say it went on just as easy as a liquid polish.

The next time I do it will be with an electric polisher though. Practice first on the wifes Kia;)

I think I was confused with the instruction " rub until you get a shine then leave to haze" (or words to that effect). I'll try again on the next dry day. Thanks for replying.

I actually don't mind spending a bit on this stuff as most of it goes a long way.

I still have 2/3 of a pot of black widow wax which has done the Mrs' car a couple of times.

I've only bothered with the spray and rinse sruff on the Beemer as it's too bloody big for polishing and waxing.

My obsidian Black CLK320 polished and waxed with Poorboys Black hole and Poorboys blue wax, back in the summertime.
It’s definitely a good combination on a black car!

Can't seem to get on with black hole, do you have any tips??

Black hole is just a filler product, won't last long at all.. best to get the car machine polished and sealed with a wax or ceramic coating..
