I have a 2009 c220cdi clk, when the car is switched off all the lights work fine, as soon as I start the engine the offside outer tail light bulb goes out, I have checked and there is no power going to it, I've checked the battery, changed bulbs, tested the relays checked fuses, could this be a problem with the sam unit, hoping someone has a idea before I admit defeat and call a auto electrician.

No messages on the dash?
I had a w209 CLK and when a rear bulb was out, the dash had a message telling me it was using another bulb as one had failed. All of the rear bulbs were dual 5w and 21w, so if a 5w tail light bulb blew, it would use the 5w filament from one of the 21w brake light bulbs instead. It would repeat this on the other tail light so as it all still looked symetrical until the failed bulb was replaced.
Cheap bulbs gave a lot of problems, have to use good quality bulbs. If no messages are coming up on the dash, it sounds more serious than just a bulb problem. Are all the earths OK?
