OK it concerns commercial vehicles and other manufacturers than MB. Scania of Sweden and Germany's MAN have also said they are assisting the OFT. But makes you wonder all the same?

I have been looking at THIS.

One hell of a van with top spec and the best engine, but almost £24k + Vat for a three year old van gives you an idea how much it cost when new - Over £40K!

There is no getting away from it though, the Sprinters are in a league of their own. The VW Crafters are made in a joint venture with MB in a shared factory and are the same van with the exceptions of the engines.

IIRC my now 9, year old Sprinter (decent spec) was £24k when new.

Never figured out why the V6 in the Sprinter is detuned like that (it's 204 bhp in the Vito, and more in all the "320" M-Bs).

£24k +VAT??? It's 3 year old!!!! A top spec extra long wheelbase Automatic 319 cdi brand new is about £33k+VAT, so I think they will do well to get anywhere near what they are asking for.
