Hi guys, while changing oil on my 220cdi CLA i noticed i had small amount of oil or maybe diesel around all 4 injector cavities, at first i was thinking its leaky injectors but then noticed that the cavities are not joined, so is it possible that all 4 injectors are leaking? Or i have an oil leak maybe from rocket cover? Or something else?, any advice where to start looking would be appreciated.
I cleaned as much as possible, tightened the rocker cover bolts checked after 2k miles and found some oil/diesel around injectors again barely any but still :/

first you have to confirm what fluid it is.

Could be either.

You could spray some soapy water around the injectors and start the car if there’s a bit of bubbling then the seals are leaking up the way.

Yeah its tricky it looks like both oil and diesel :/ good idea re bubbles, will try that.
Reading through forums didn’t pick any instances where all 4 injectors were leaking, so im hoping for ‘bad’ rocker cover gasket

Google 'The black death Diesel' . That should do it.

Right learnt much mores about it.. mine doesn’t look no where near as bad as other examples seen, no carbon build up etc just tiny amount of diesel/oil, anyways the washers and bolts on order.. hopefully it will come out easier that what i just seen on sprinter vans… :/

Coudl be black death lurking there... run engine hot before trying to remove injector, perhaps wise to do one by one.... unless you have slide hammer

Personally I would clean up and monitor.
All 4 leaking, and all only a little, doesn't make black death likely, imho.

The parts were £16 all in from autodoc and about two weeks away, since its coming from germany (lost trust in eurocarparts after counterfeit brake disc saga..) so have time to identify correctly what exactly is it and take it from there.
Im hoping if it is the injectors and they have no carbon build up yet they should come out easily, after all they lubricated already :-)

I hope they come out easily . This is the alternative if they don't.
