Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to MB cars! I recently treated myself to a 2012 SLK200 R172.
I think I have an issue, but can't put my finger on it.
So far, I have driven like a nun but cannot get more than 30 mpg and the exhaust tips seem quite sooty.
I ran a Carly scan - no error codes except for a shorted wing mirror.

Drove a few times with Carly monitoring live data, and noticed the coolant temp seemed a bit low, and would drop as I go the car up to speed.
So I changed the Thermostat - no real difference.

So then I noticed the oil temp reading was at minus 10 degrees!?! Maybe that's confusing the ECU, making it adjust the fuelling.
I was going to change the sensor but can't find it, or even a part number. How can the ECU know what the oil temp is without a sensor?

Any help would be brilliant!

Thanks for the suggestion, but that sender is for the 1st gen models. I can't see a similar item for my 2012 model

Have you had a look on the EPC for your car?
