Hi all, the time has come to finally get the old water pump replaced. it is making a bit of noise when cold engine and I get a bit of a weep from seep hole (or whatever it is called). Anyway I got a new one OEM that I purchased for something like £20 with other bits as clearout on ebay:bannana:. Question I have is do I need to use any kind of sealant/glue together with new gasket (paper like)? If so what do you recommend?
thanks

pump

You must read you manual and use gaskets in the places called for them .And i used Hylomar blue on my pump replacement .If you do use a gasket and sealant when you put the pump to the block dont remove it once you have it in place.Dont do what i did and put it on and then pulled it apart to see if it was in the right place ,in doing so i pulled the gasket off. Also i used a mild thread lock on the bolts.Good luck with it ,it may be a big job and a worry but in the end you will be happy with end results. You can pm me if you have a problem ,i may be able to help.

You don't need to use any sealer unless you prefer to, both pump and housing are alloy so don't over tighten the bolts.

Takes about an hour to do the job.
