Hi guys,
Any tips on glow plug replacement, other than don't snap them off .
I would do a lol but if that happens no one is laughing.
Will lube well, use torque wrench on removal and refit.
Do I need to ream the glowplug holes and if so any ideas where to get a tool to fit the om646 evo engine?.
Hope you can help
Steve

I'd also be interested in knowing this too as I have faulty glowplug on a om646 evo engine

Deleted , wrong engine.

Senior moment

They came out really easy on my E220 with the same engine. I sprayed them with no nonsense stuff from screwfix over the course of a few days, got the engine hot and took them out with a torque wrench (20nm IIRC)

Hi Horacio
Did you ream the glow plug aperture before fitting the plugs?
Also did you use any ceramic grease?

I didn't bother, the threads weren't coked up. I just put a very thin smear of copper grease.

The evo engine uses ceramic plugs which were pretty expensive.

Yeah did notice they are between 32 and 60 pounds, which sort did you use?
Did want to ream but as I run be ultimate fuel all the time think the head will be reasonably clean.
Better get the bits ordered
Thanks for your help

I got a set of NGK's on eBay for under £100 IIRC...
