At the connection to the intercooler, n/s below the throttle valve, do they always seep oil?

Am I wasting my time trying to get this to seal?
Even after fitting new 'o' rings some miles ago it still weeps.

It's possible that the intercooler is swimming with oil inside , can you remove it and clean it out . This was a problem the VW Passat I once owned had.

It was clean when I fitted the new seals.
I reckon it is where oil in the intake system pools a little when the engine is stopped. And will clear easily enough when started.
Oil level doesn't drop.
DPF doesn't regen too regularly.
So I reckon the engine is running well enough.

But do others see the oily deposits around that joint?
