Says it all really. One destroyed front nearside 16" Adharaz alloy:( :( :( I am so cross with me for doing it in the first place     - I hate Sheffield!! And then all those idiots that double park around the back roads of Ecclesall Road and the council for doing the road markings for parking as they do and the high kerbs yaddah yaddah yaddah - So go on - I am standing on the who's the idiot podium for the day:D

One positive thing I guess - when I go to Ian's I only have to do three wheels:D

But now the serious question - how the hell do I get one alloy fixed?

Oooh that's messy Pammy, methinks I'd be getting my tracking checked as well, looking at that level of damage!
I think that one's past repair, bad bad luck !!

If you look on eBay, there are often single Mercedes alloy wheels for sale. You might have to wait a few weeks until your style comes up.
They are available from the parts counter for somewhere near the £250 mark if you're desperate. Do you have a spare wheel in your car? You do now! ;)

It should be possible for a decent wheel refurb company to fix that, you'd be amazed at what they can do.

Ooh ... nasty!

Yup eBay is the place to go, I even picked up a brand new 'Ceginus' wheel for my R129 there.

I've got a space saver wheel ;)

It is quite spooky you know as I was seriously looking at a new set of wheels last night :twilight zone doo doo doo doo: But decided I couldn't afford it. Fate can be so cruel at times :( I fancied going up to 17" although someone had mentioned 18" and did see a set last night that I quite liked - now gone :(

The car is handling just fine - drove back from Sheff with no further mishaps:o :o So I guess it's a case of keeping a look out for one 16" Adharaz or a full replacement set then get this one refurbed and sell the set on.

So opinions - 17 or 18?

Ah! Pammy that looks nasty, I wouldn't say it was past repair though... At least you did it yourself, I had a rim that looked like that, all I'm saying it wasn't me  :(

Perfectly simple repair to be honest. £75ish and put the spare on for a while if they can't do it in the same day.

its not that bad Pammy, it will refurb very easily, abt £40 ish should do it as theres no polished lip.

Have found a local chappy who could do it at work on Monday. They'll take the wheel off - put spare on - take wheel away and fix. Then come back and swap them over again.

Another stupid question - will they need to inflate the space saver and f they do won't that bugger it up for deflating and fitting back in the boot?

What a bu**er :( . I would say go for 17" if you were inclined towards a new set but the repair looks to be a resonable, (for the time being), option.

The spare should go back ok, Im taking its a skinny spacesaver?.

Portzy.

Nothing to worry about, it will refurb to new condition at cost of approx £25-35.

Its not that expensive form MB, if you want a 100% colour match to your existing wheels, the order number is B66471392 £141. Or you could have it fixed, but if you do, make sure its not a "Smart repair".

For £25 / £35 all you'll get is a smart repair. Still think £75 all in is more realistic for a decent refurb.

oh - it's Smart that were coming on Monday - best not then?

I'll ring MB up tomorrow and get a price off them.

Want a reasonable job!!

A smart repair uses glue to repair the damage and paints over the existing paint.

A decent repair with either be acid dipped or bead blasted then turned, powder coated and painted.

Pammy MB Brooklands use smart repair for most of their basic refurbs - so best ask who they use for the work!

Sorry to hear about all this Pammy

There, there, there:)

Sorry to hear about your mishap. But as Mrs Gollum says "Its only a lump of metal". You can have serious words with Carol at the Cattleman's :D
