The weekend presented me the ideal opportunity to play with my new toy, I have up until now been very careful as I needed to get used to the different power and performance of the E55 vs the E320cdi.
A mixture of longish distance and cross country jaunts and I am now hooked, the power is awesome, overtaking does not need so much thought......although the speedo has to be watched rather carefully!
I found it very twitchy to begin with, but having adjusted the tyre pressures it is now very planted and sure footed.
The engine noise is fantastic, reminds me of my old Aston in some ways, V8's certainly rule
A few little niggles, but the dealer is going to sort those out.(Parking sensors on the blink, Massaging/dynamic seats not working although I can here clicking in the seats when the buttons are pressed, a couple of the doors do not work for keyless entry) apart from that I am a very happy lad.
I have just ordered some Vredestein wintrac Extreme tyres for the winter months, and will have the others back on for the summer. All that power and greasy country roads could be a recipe for disaster otherwise! I am very impressed with the ESP though, works just well enough to carry on enjoying the engine without being left frustrated.
All in all the perfect car for me, Supercar performance in a 7 seater that also keeps the missus happy.....
