Just don't haggle over t'price!

Do you know how Copper wire was invented?

Two Yorkshire men arguing over to Penny! I 🤣
Funnily enough, I said to my wife, earlier today, that it would probably be pointless trying to haggle.😂
That said, I would hope for a bit of a gesture considering the distance we have to travel and that it might need new tyres before too long.

Why? You've already reserved it. The distance you are from it isn't the garage's fault. Surely you should negotiate before you agree a deal, not after you have reached an agreement.

I see it hasn't been serviced since September 2020 (according to their advert), so it may need some attention now. Hope it's all ok for you.

And the face-lift w212 e220s are very popular taxi vehicles with a quite few regularly going over 200k

If it has COMAND...... see if you can negotiate a free maps update prior to delivery ;)
Interesting - I guess that could be done whilst at MB for the bolts recall?
I presume it is on a HDD in the C218?

No deal agreed yet. Merely to hold it until preparation is finished and I can see the end result.

Is this car the facelift model (2015-2018)?

No, a W218 2012.

It will likely have COMAND NTG4.5. The latest maps version is v20.0.

(Unfortunately it won't have the TomTom Live Data subscription option, which was only introduced in mid-2013).

Well, I'd hoped to collect in a few days, but the car failed its MOT on a corroded front brake pipe.

So, when it's at MB for the recall, that will be done too.

Maybe a daft question, but does doing a brake pipe result in needing to change the brake fluid? Just wondered as I know it won't have had a change for about 3-4 years.

Slightly disappointed at the delay, but happy things are being put right before I get it.

Ideally all 4 brakes will be bled after changing a brake pipe.

Apparently, they'll bleed the replaced pipe and top up the fluid.
Not surprised hence my comment "Ideally"

Is it worth asking them to bleed all of that brakes and offer a contribution toward the cost?

I suspect it's too late now, as the garage should have collected the car back from MB.

I'd imagine that if there was anything else, at all suspect, MB wouldn't be backwards and coming forwards to offer to do more work.🙄

I am now scheduled to collect the car on Saturday - train tickets booked this evening!
