Had this error code pop up yesterday together with a bit a rough idling which stopped after 30 seconds. I did have this months ago and the cam sensor was replaced, surely the sensor hasn't gone again?

All I can add is that cgi engines can have an issue with the camshaft adjuster gears.
The chains are a 'bush' type chain and give little trouble.
Have you noticed any engine rattling on start up???

Camshaft adjusters are a big problem on these engines and as you say wg they normally rattle on start up but there are also issues regarding the timing chains stretching on the 271 evo engines also , you would never think these chains would stretch when you see them but they do and it throws the cam timing out bringing up that cam sensor fault

would a stretched chain or gear problem cause a fault all the time or just intermittently
