Good evening all.
I recently bought a 2004 c180 kompressor. When I test drove it the CEL was on but the car drove perfectly. The seller got the code read which was p0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input. He got the code cleared and it stayed off for 3 days but today the CEL came on again and I checked the code which was the same again. After doing some research I checked the cam adjusters for oil in the plug. There was a tiny amount in the right one (will be replaced asap) but no oil in any other sensor plugs including MAF sensor, ECU plugs or exhaust sensors and the air filter is like new. Does it sound like the MAF could just do with a clean or be replaced? Or something else? I have read lots of posts but they all have multiple codes including p0102 or different codes completely. I am very competent mechanically and have cleaned MAF sensors on many cars but they have all been a lot easier to remove. Would appreciate any opinions before i start pulling the sensor out or returning the car.
thanks very much.
