Hey guys. Any idea what this might be? Poor paint quality? Noticed it yesterday and intend to bring to MB.

Eh ? that definitely looks like it came out of the spray booth like that from new, slight pressure drop on the robot arm perhaps ? The 'plastic bit's' are normally sprayed separately from the metal bits...different types of paint.

As already mentioned, looks like a lack of paint.

Never!!! I hand wash my car so I guess I’m not as meticulous as I thought I was!

Probably hard to tell as it's small, but, does the edge feel dull/rough?

Its in the crevice so I cant actually get my fingers in there to feel it. I can reach the edge of it and it doesn’t feel like over spray ie rough

Yep. I can't see how over-spray would have got there anyway in your ownership anyway so it is most likely a defect in the paint process before it left the factory.

If you can get to the back of it you will probably see that the part is originally black. if so there might be loads of black ones out there with the same 'problem' but no one has spotted it
