Panoramic roof fan

Guys I have the pana roof and it looks like it has some solar panels at the front/rear.

I'm assuming these activate a fan in hot weather to cool the car is this automatic or do I have to to activate etc.

Ok cheers will wait for a hot day to test it lol.
What's best product to grease the runners it's a little slow and rough.
