Parkign sensor behaviour / test

Sorry I am full of questions today.
Short version - is there an offical test method that i can check my parking sensors with?
or do i just pick a wall and see if when they beep as i drive up to it?

Long version lol When we picked up our car it had a parkign sensor issue where it went off when you stopped, and kept goign every now and then, then again when you pulled away. merceds took it back and replaced a sensor, all was good.
I was out atthe weekend withthe wife and we noticed that we are not getting the proximity beep. so i reset the factory settigns ( as we had messed withthat much with th efautl we thought this would be the quickest way back) but still no beep, and the fault has come back - all be it not as bad.

If you wave your hand in front of the sensors one at a time....and listen carefully you should hear a very faint clicking as your hand passes it.....not clicky....no worky!

I tried this before on an Audi and i got clicky not working lol
I think they are all working but may need a calibration or not sensitive enough somethign like that. I think i will try approaching a wall from each corner and see what happens.
